Ahmed M. Elshahat Osman is the director of the business intelligence department at Misr Technology Services (MTS). Ahmed has a profound experience in the information systems industry spanning more than 40 years, starting with application programming and ending with implementing modern technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence in data analysis and decision support systems.
Ahmed’s practical experience includes working for a decade in one of the Arab Gulf countries in the field of Customs automation. Upon his return to Egypt in 1997, he and his colleagues established several companies working in the field of Ports, Customs, and OGAs automation.
He got his B.Sc. (1982) with a degree of honor from the Department of Computer Engineering and Systems, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University, Egypt. Also, he got his M.Sc. from the same department (1986). To cope with modern technologies and sharpen his knowledge with the relevant academic background, Ahmed joined a Ph.D. program at Luleå University of Technology – Sweden in 2015. Ahmed is currently preparing to defend his thesis in October 2023.
In addition to his practical and academic interest in information systems, Ahmed enjoys classical music, photography, and reading in philosophy of science.
