The connectivity to the Internet by an ever-growing number of persons makes trading across borders more accessible through the use of e-commerce platforms/marketplaces and through emerging e-commerce business models.
In parallel to the opportunities for global economic growth, cross-border e-commerce, in particular Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) transactions, is presenting a number of new challenges to governments. These span from undervaluation, mis-declaration, to various safety and security challenges and concerns.
This session will showcase how Customs administrations cooperate with e-commerce stakeholders, and leverage on data and technology to implement the WCO Framework of Standards on Cross-Border E-Commerce and support safe, secure and sustainable cross-border e-commerce.
