Yoshiro Baba Japan Customs

Yoshiro BABA is Director, Customs and Tariff Bureau, Ministry of Finance, Japan. He is heading and managing mainly Customs enforcement functions of Japan Customs, including imported/exported cargo inspection, passengers and baggage inspection at international sea and air ports, surveillance, patrols of ports of entry and Customs licensed premises; aiming at ensuring a safe and secure society, securing a fair revenue collection, and facilitating legitimate trade. He has over 30 years of career in Customs and had engaged in policy development, research, and projects in a wide range of fields of Customs matters. In addition to his career, he worked for World Customs Organization more than a decade in the area of Customs Modernization, External Relations, etc.
