Kagisho is an eBusiness Consultant at GEFEG, a company specialising in design-time solutions and services for planning and streamlining the electronic processing of business transactions.
In the last few years, Kagisho has been involved in international consulting projects focusing on the development of standards-compliant metadata structures, such as the WCO Data Model, and the UN/CEFACT Reference Data Models in the transport sector and for government organisations. His work focuses on reusing, harmonising and updating standardised data models for customer projects for the supply or transport chain and for regulatory processes.
Kagisho has also supported customs authorities in many countries worldwide in the reuse and practical application of the WCO Data Model for their customisations and implementation preparation. This involves the use of GEFEG.FX software with the WCO Data Model, which GEFEG supplies in cooperation with the World Customs Organisation to public and private organisations involved in cross-border regulatory processes and trade activities. His expertise includes the application of XML formats for electronic data processing using the company's GEFEG.FX software with extensive modelling, guidance, testing and publishing capabilities.
Prior to his current position, Kagisho worked for the South African Revenue Service on the customization and implementation of the SARS customs data model based on the WCO Data Model using value added software (GEFEG.FX). He also contributed to the development of a Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Regional Utility Block and Unique Consignment Reference (UCR) as a WCO standard practice and guide for the development of standardised data exchange between customs administrations.
Kagisho holds a diploma in Information Technology / Web & Application Development from the Central University of Technology, South Africa.
