Michael Squirrell TTEK Inc.

Michael Squirrell is the Chief Technology Officer at TTEK Inc, a developer of leading edge customs management solutions and part of AD Ports Group’s Maqta Gateway. With more than 18 years of specialised multinational technological experience, Michael excels as an enterprise architect and has successfully implemented Whole-of-Government projects, predominantly in the field of Customs, Trade and Financial Management. Michael currently provides technical leadership to exploit the latest analytical models, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (ML-NLP) solutions on customs data to enhance revenue collection for governments. Highly regarded in the international customs community as a visionary, his approach to adopt best practices has ensured delivery of several robust and scalable solutions, including Border Management, Customs Declaration Processing, and Customs Risk Management. Prior to joining TTEK, Mr. Squirrell has held critical roles in technology with GORTT Ministry of Trade and Industry in Trinidad and Tobago, and Lao Customs Department in Lao PDR. In addition, he has led the development of technological solutions across several geographies such as Cambodia, Australia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Solomon Islands. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Kingston University, London, and a Master’s Degree in Management from Macquaire Business School in Australia. He is also a regular contributor to articles published in the World Customs Organization Magazine.
