Jayvee Santos UNCTAD

Mr. Jayvee Santos, a citizen of the Philippines, was appointed as the ASYCUDA Programme's Regional Coordinator for the Pacific in 2018 and is based in Suva, Fiji, where he oversees ASYCUDA projects and technical assistance in 15 countries and territories in the region. Before joining UNCTAD, he worked as a software developer with Unisys Philippines developing applications for banks in Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. Prior to his current appointment, Jayvee started his career with UNCTAD as a local project staff and later as project manager in the Philippine Tax Computerization Project from 1997-2000. He served as an Information Systems Officer from 2001-2018 working with more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including leading the implementation of ASYCUDA in Timor-Leste from 2002 to 2006 and in Fiji from 2014 to 2017. He brings with him extensive experience working on customs reform, modernization, and automation. Jayvee studied public management in the University of the Philippines and computer science in Ateneo de Manila. He is married, with two children, living and working in Melbourne, Australia and Honolulu, Hawaii.
