Roman Koller
Roman Koller is a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Dortmund, Germany. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Logistics from TU Dortmund University. His work in the research department for Procurement and Finance in Supply Chain Management at Fraunhofer IML focuses on integrating material, information, and financial flows in supply chains. To achieve this, the researchers are exploring various innovative digital technologies, such as blockchain technology, and analyze their capabilities for future supply chains. Roman has a special interest in logistics processes in foreign trade, especially in connection with customs processes. Currently, he is involved in a research and development project that explores the use of open-source blockchain technology for customs clearance. The project is part of an initiative that brings together several large logistics companies and customs specialists to work on open-source components and was recently selected in the first cohort of the EU Commission's European Blockchain Sandbox.
