Nguyen Van Can General Department of Viet Nam Customs
Mr. Nguyen Van Can - Senior customs expert, PhD in State Management of Security and Social Order, has held the position of Director General of the General Department of Vietnam Customs since May 2016. Prior to customs career, he had served in Vietnam People's Army for 9 years. During 33 years experience at the General Department of Vietnam Customs, he had been through multiple managing positions at local Customs border offices and department of import and export duty. As a member of Vietnam Government’s Steering Committee on trade facilitation and anti-smuggling and trade frauds, he has contributed many synchronous solutions to trade facilitation for accelerating cross-border exchange of goods, and to preventing and fighting against customs offences. Meanwhile, he pays attention to directing Viet Nam customs modernization towards Digital Customs, Smart Customs, and Green Customs. He values cooperation and sharings with the WCO and other Customs authority members for the aim of trade facilitation and security and safety for the supply chain of goods and services.
