Trevor Francis European PEN-CP project, UK Border Force

Trevor has over 30 years’ experience in customs, both from an operational perspective, and for the last 15-plus years, he has been working in the innovation space to find technologies or techniques that could strengthen the activities at the border. Trevor represented Border Force as a member of the EU Customs Detection Technology Group (CDTPG) of the EU Commission/DG TAXUD from 2011 to 2020, which contributed to several European reference documents on Detection Technology. The CDTPG collaboration prompted his participation in the Horizon Security research projects MESMERISE, BorderSens, PEN-CP and PARSEC to contribute efforts to develop innovative tools for the customs community.
